Abstract
El- Hibeh is an Ancient Egyptian site located in the Middle of Egypt about 55 km south of Beni Suef governorate, on the east bank of the River Nile. It was called in the Ancient Egyptian texts (tAy.wADy) which means ”their walls” but there are other names which could be used for the same site. It contains remains of big walls ” fortress” and ruins of ” temple for Amun ” may be, El- Hibeh was inhabited from the late New kingdom because mud- bricks stamped with the cartouche of the king Thothmose III were found there, but it was known from the famous Wenamun papyrus as a fortress which was established by Piankh or Herihor . El- Hibeh was situated at a strategic point along the Nile and was able to control traffic passing southward. The resettlement and possible expansion of El- Hibeh by the rulers of 21st Dynasty especially Menkheper re, whom probably established the fortress as a military point where the troops from Upper Egypt ”Thebes” were stationed in the time of war.

An introduction about El Hibeh which includes its location, names, history and the excavations of El- Hibeh.
The 2nd Chapter: The Fixed Monuments:
-The Fortress of El- Hibeh.
-The temple of el Hibeh which deals with the location, date, gods, the architectural plan and scenes and inscriptions of the temple.
-The cemetery of El Hibeh.
-EL Hibeh as a priestly community.
The 3rd Chapter: The Transmitted Monuments:
-El Hibeh archive.
-A red shroud mummy from El- Hibeh.
-A sarcophagus from El- Hibeh.
