Abstract This study was performed to confirm the routine use of IEF as a very sensitive method for detecting monoclonal immunoglobulins in lymphoproliferative and immuno— proliferative disorders. The study conducted on forty individuals divided into two groups, a patient group and a control group. The patient group consisted of 32 patients. They were 26 males and 6 females. Their ages ranged from 6—67 years with a mean of 47.15 ± 15.17 years. Fourteen cases were diagnosed as multiple myeloma, 13 cases as non—Hodgkin’s lymphoma, 1 case as hairy cell leukemia and 4 cases as chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The control group consisted of 8 individuals, 5 males and 3 females. between 28—67 years with a mean of 44.75 showed normal total serum protein immunoglobul in patterns.
