Abstract
This investigation was carried out at sids and Sakha Agricultural Research Stations during the two growing seasons of 1997 and 1998. the main objectives of the present study are to estimates of (1) general and specific combining ability effects;2) the magnitude and type of gene action;3) Heritablitiy in the broad and narrow sense and 4) correlation coefficients among grain yield and its components in a diallel cross among six locally developed yellow inbred lines.
Fifteen single crosses were made among six yellow inbred lines, provided by Mazie Research Section, A.R.C. at Sids Agricultural Research Section during 1997 season. Evaluation of the fifteen single crosses along with three checks, namely S.C. 160; S.C. 161 and S.C. 10 was conducted at two locations, i.e.Sids and Sakha in 1998 season.
