Abstract The Present Work Is A Study On Certain Effects Of The Antifeedant Triphenyltin Hydroxide(Du-Ter)And The Synthetic Pyrethroid Fenvalerate(Sumicidin)On Tffb Different Stages Of The Mediterranean Sea Fly, Ceratitis Capltata. The Effects Studied Are Toxicity Action Of Both Compounds On Eggs, Larvae And Pupae, Effect Of The Two Chemicals On The Development And Some Biological Aspects Of Larvae, Pupae And Adult Stages Treated As Larvae. The Effects On Gonads And Reproductive Potential Of The Insect As Well As The Effects On Certain Biochemical Constituents Of Larvae And Pupae Are Also Investigated. The Most Important Results Obtained Are: Sumicidin Shows Higher Larvicidal Efficacy Than Du-Ter. The Effect Of Larval Treatment Is Extended To The Pupal Stage. Du-Ter Prolongs The Preoviposition Period Of The Female Flies Emerging From Treated Larvae And Significantly Decreases The Oviposition As Well As The Post-Oviposition Periods. Du-Ter Causes A Slight Decrease In The Free And Protein Hydrolysate Amino Acids Of Larvae And Pupae. |
