Abstract
The present study is carried out to identify a pv y isolate which is isolated from potato fields in U.A.R. The insect vectors of a virus strain and the virus-vector relationship are studied. Studies are also carried out on symptomatology, host range, physical properties. Serological reaction, aphid transmission and virusvector relationship. As for identification of the virus, the results obtained show that the virus is easily transmitted by sap and by grafting. On the other hand, as for the vector-virus relationship, the results obtained reveal that the aphids are able to acquire the virus from infected tobacco plants in five seconds.
