Abstract

The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of (10%, 15%,and 20%) sesame oil diets on serum lipid profile and liver function in hypercholesterolemic rats. Ninety male albino rats weighing 85-95 g were used. Rats were randomly divided into equal eight groups. Two main groups (control -ve) and (control +ve). Other three healthy groups fed on 10%, 15% and 20% sesame oil diets. Three groups with hypercholesterolemia which fed on 10%, 15% and 20% sesame oil diets. br Initial and final body weight as well as. daily food intake were recorded. At the end of experimental period rats were scarified, the internal organs were remove’d and weighted, also, parts from livers were used for histopathology. Blood samples were collected for analysis-and lipid profile and liver enzymes were measured in the serum. br Result could be summarized as: br Body weight gain of norrhal groups fed on 15% and 20% sesame oil diets were significantly increased as compared with control (-ve group). Liver and heart weight were sienificantlv lower in 10% .15%. and 20% sesame oil br •w- J br diets fed groups as compared with control(+ve group.
