Abstract This study was carried out on the Farm of the Depal-trnent of Aninlal S production, Facully ol’ Agriculture, Tanta Univel-sily a1 ICali. El-Shcil~h, study the possibility of sing watermelon vine ill feeding of Egyptian lactating butt:alo cows and possibility of sbstittiol this by-products will1 Berseem hay and find confirm methods for conservation this raw material as silage or hay. This study was divided into two parts. First part to study the chemical composition and nutritive val~~e of feedstuff through out the digestible trials on sheep. Five digestibility trials were conducted using fifteen adult Rahnany * rams with average live weight of 50 kg to determine the digestibility of the following ration 1 -Treatment 1 100% Berseem hay 2 - Treatment 2 50% Berseem hay + 50% watermelon vine hay 3 - Treatment 3 I00 % watermelon vine hay 4 - Treatnient 4 100% waternielo~l vine silage without any additives 5 - TI-eatnvmt 5.. 100% \vaew Aoi vine silage ireatcd with 2 nlolasscs. |
