Abstract 1-During the present investigation, the author has studied the blood protozoan parasites of 929 reptiles which belong to nine species. Out of these 213 (22.93%) were infected with one or more species of parasites. However, mixed infections were frequently met with. 2- The infected reptiles belong to seven genera, 1-Ptyodactylus hasselquistii, 2-Stenodactylus elegans, 3-Tarentola annularis, 4-Agama setllio, 5-Acanthodactylus boskianus,6-Mabuia quinquetaenita,7-Zamenis florulentus. 3- The incidence of infection varies widely from one host to the other. 4- The reptilian host Ptyodactylus hasselquistii and Tarentola annularis were found to be infected with two species of parasites (one of them followed to the family Haemogregar-inidae and the other to the family Lankesterillidae. 5- The reptiles Chalcides ocellatus and Psammophis sibilans were free from any blood parasites. |
