Abstract The present study is mainly directed to the possibility of utilization of cement kiln dust (By-pass Dust), Blast furnace slag (BFS) and sludge in the production of building materials. Cement kiln dust (CKD) is accumulated in relatively big quantities during the manufacture of Portland cement clinker by the dry process in Egypt. The accumulation of CKD within the area of cement industries and its spreading in the surrounding atmosphere represent a big environmental problem. Also granulated and air cooled blast furnace slags, the by-products of iron and steel industry, are used as a starting materials in addition to the sludge obtained from power plants. |
