Abstract
The present thesis includes the following important findings t 1. 6-Aminoquinoxalines (Ia-c) condense with 2,4- dinitrochlordbedzene to give the corresponding anilino derivatives (11 a-c) b;R = CH3 c;R = C6H5 2- Partial reduction of (I1 a-c) with sodium sulphide in alcohol yields 6-(2’ - amino-4’ - nitro anilino)q*;;lnoxalines (111 a-c) , the structure of these later products is based on the fact that they behave as typical o-dismines. Thus on diazotisation they give 6-(51-nitrobenzotrijeol-1-ylf quinoxalines (IV a-c) and react with foMnfc and/or acetic acid to give 6-(5-nitrobenzimidazol-1-yl) quinoxalines (V a-c) and 6-(2’-methyl-5’ nitrobenzimidazol-
