Abstract This work provides some kmetic investigations on various redox systems. Among these systems are the reduction of potassium fmioxalate complex, K3p e(C204)3]3. H20, wid 1 thiosulphate, sdphite, and L-ascorbic acid. In the first two systems , a conventional uv/vis spectrophotometer was used for monitoring the reaction rates. Stopped-flow spectrophotometer was employed for measuring the rate of complex / ascorbic acid reaction. ’fie thesis, therefore, lies in four main chapters. Chapter one normally shows literature survey on the reduction of central metal(1II) ions with various reducing agents. The aim behmd the present study ends hs chapter. Chapter two describes the materials, experimental methods and techmques utilized in conducting th~s work. Chapter three summarizes the results obtained for each redox system. Chapter four presents general’ arguments on the phenomena observed, discusses the consistent mechanisms and gives a concise conclusion for the facts gained, which are considered as good contribution to tlus field. |
