Abstract

Filly seed samples of man gold and thirty-five of zinnia collected from both commercial markets and different gardens of Egypt were listed against the seed-borne fungi. Standard boilers method was used to determine the maximum number of normal and external seed-borne fungi. Each sample was sorted into two groups. Untreated seeds and surface disinfested in 1% sodium hypochlorite.
2-The following 24 fungi were ideated as seed-born fungi of marigold namely Alternaria alternate, Alternaria zinnia, Alternaria spp, Aspergillus spp, Cephaiosporium sp, Chaetomium sp, Cladosporium sp, Curvuiaria spp, Drechsiera tetramer a, Drechsiera spp, Epicoccum sp., F. equisti, Fusarium moniliforme, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium semitectum, Fusarium sofani, Mucor sp, Penicllium sp, Rhizopus sp, Stemphyliun sp, Trichoderma sp, Trichothecium sp, Verticillium albo-atrum and V. dahllae.
3-Alternaria alternate, Fusarium moniliforme F. semltectum, Stemphylium sp, Cladosporium sp and Cephaiosporium sp. Were the dominant observed fungi in both treatments seed disinfestations treatment showed a decrease in the percentage of most observed seed-borne fungi, except. Alternaria sp., F oxysporum, verticilium albo-atrum and V. dahlia which their recovery was significantly increased. The incidence of Alternaria zinnia was not affected the disinfestations treatment.
4- Nineteen fungal species were detected and identified as seed borne fungi of zinnia namely, Alternaria alternate, Alternaria zinnia, Aspergillus spp. Cephalosporium sp, Cladosporiuni sp, Curvutaria spp, Drechsiera tetramera, Drechsiera spp, Epicoccum sp, Fusarium monlliforme, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium semllectum, Scierotinia scierotiorum, Myrothecium sp, Penicillium sp, Rhizopus sp, Stemphylium sp, Trichoderma sp, and Verticillium alboatrum.
5-Cephaiosporium sp . F semitectum, Alternaria alternate, F. monitiforme and cladosportum sp. Were the dominant observed fungi on zinnia seeds Seed disinfestations treatment showed that the percentage at recovered seed borne. Fungi were significantly decreased except V. albo-atrum and F. monitiforme. Which showed an increase in their incidence A. zinnia and F. oxysporum were not selected in their incidence by the disinfestations treatment.
