Abstract

The present study mainly deals for the first time with zircons in the granitoid rocks of Gabal El - Shayib area, using thin sections of these rocks. However, the following subjects have been treated : 1- Field relations of the granitoids of Gabal El - Shayib area. 2- Petrography and modal analysis of these rocks. 3- Distribution of zircons in the mineral constituents of the rocks, beside the determination of their zircon relative abundance ratios (RARs).
