Abstract Objectives: Study the effects of certain antioxidant on elevating the harmful effects of drought stress on sugar beet plants. Each of ascorbic, salicylic, humic an sea weed as Biostimulats remediation substances were examined. Methods & Results : Two field experiments were carried out at sugar crop Inst. A. R. C. Ministry of Agric. , Egypt. To evaluate germination , growth, physiology and anatomical parameters of two cultivars from sugar beet , Chenopodiaceae. Yield and its componenets were also studied the obtained results are summarized as follows: 1- Germination and seedling growth were inhibited by an increase in mannitol level which assimilated with a reduction in ACA, GSH, CAT, GPODand SOD as well as carbohydrate , total N and an increase in H2O2 , proline TSS and osmotic pressure of the leaves in both cv (s). 2- The field experiments showed a change in parameters of plant growth, morphological and anatomical structures as well as internal constituents including water fractions content, osmotic pressure, phytohormones, protein, amino acids, photosynthetic pigments and carbohydrate fractions. 3- Drought stress decreased sugar beet yield and its componenets as well as chemical composition of the root juice. Conclusion: It could be concluded that sugar beet could tolerance prolonging irrigation period up to 28 days and produced highest yield in the presence of SWE (Sea weed) when used as spraying + soaking. |
