Abstract 112654 animals slaughtered at Minia governorate abattoirs were inspected for incidence and predilection seats of cysticercus bovis during period 1991 and 1992 slaughtered animals included 63167 cattle, 36401 buffaloes and 13086 calves. Incidence of C. bovis were 3.5% in cattle, 0.44% in buffaloes and 0% in calves. Predilection seats of C. bovis and their frequency distribution were in the following decreasing order: heart masseter muscules, tongue and diaphragm while shoulder and thigh muscules showed the lowest infection rate. |
