المستخلص One of the important problems that face those who are concerned with preparing programs for the rehabilitation and education of the mentally handicap is the process of selecting the skills that are to be taught to the mentally handicapped . Communication skills enable the impaired person to integrate into society and communicate with his mates and with those who are responsible for his education and care. These skills, as a result, broaden his ability to learn and acquire other skills. Thus communication skills should be given a high priority. The researcher, then, suggest preparing a multi-dimensional integrated program to develop some of verbal and non-verbal communication skills for these children. Before and after the application of the suggested program, statistically significant differences are found, at the level (0.05) on the communication skills scale and the selected dimensions of the adjustment behavior scale , between the mean ranks of the marks of the mentally handicapped children in the experimental group, in favor of the post-application. |
