Abstract Schistosomiasis is an endemic disease i Egypt. ilharzial hepatic f ibrosis is one of its serious omplication, leading to portal hypertension and oesophageal arices. many factors have been incriminated in the athogenesis of bleeding in schistosomal patients, including upture of oesophageal varices, thrombocytopenia, hrambasthenia, defective coagulation mechamism as well as increased fibrinolytic activity. in whom hepatosplenic , chistosomiasis coexistence with chronic active hepatitis, nresolved hepatitis and/or cirrhosis an additive factor for jathogenesis of bleeding have been incriminated. we have lanned this work in order to aspess - platelet function in lepatosplenic lepatosplenic and to lepatos the role of splenectomy in improvement of platelet function. We revised all clinical hematological, hemostatical and platelet functions of 72 case of bilharzial hepatosplenomegally,portal. |
