Abstract Two field trials were conducted at ElSerw Agricultural Research Station, Dammietta governorate at the same location through summer season 2003 and winter season 20032004. This investigation aims to study the effect of Nbiofertilization (Azolla, cyanobacteria and Serialine) and mineral nitrogen applications (204060 kg N/fed) on growth and nutrients uptake for rice crop, and study the residual effect of Nbiofertilization on sequent crop (wheat) with mineral nitrogen rates (456075 kg N/fed). Results showed that Azolla inoculation + 60 kg N/fed gave high rice growth parameters, yield and yield components, nutrients contents and photosynthetic pigments in rice leaves. Also, results indicated that the residual effect of Azolla inoculation and 75 kg N/fed gave better wheat growth parameters, yield and yield components, nutrients contents and photosynthetic pigments in wheat leaves. Also, results revealed that applying Nbiofertilizers could produce high rice grain yield when it combined with two third dose of the recommend mineral nitrogen (40 kg n/fed). Also, there was residual effect from Nbiofertilizations, which were applied with rice crop on the sequent crop (wheat) and the residual effect of Azolla inoculation was the highest followed by residual effect of cyanobacteria and Serialine inoculations, respectively. |
