Abstract The aim of this work is to evaluate the role of color coded imaging in diagnosis and characterization of thyroid o1ellings trying to differentiate between benign and malignant This differentiation depends mainly on detection of a common character, although not necessarily present, :n malignancy. The effect on the near-by vessels are studied to differentiate between the beniqn versus malignant Lastly core or fine needle aspiration biopsy was sent for patholoqical examination. This study involved 46 patients (6 males and 40 females). ranged from 16 to 60 years with mean age of 38 years. All atients underwent clinical examination, radio-immune assay of T3 T4 in the serum, color coded duplex imaging of the thyroid gland nd the related structures. Fine needle aspiration biopsy was in 36 patients and true cut needle biopsy was done in 17 45 patients underwent surgery for the diagnosed thyroid ahd the surgical specimens were sent for histo¬athological examination which revealed benign thyroid neoplasms in 5 patients (diffuse toxic goiter in 5 patients, simple nodular patients, toxic nodular goiter in 5 patients & adenoma |
