Abstract
In this essay, the entrapment sytndromes in the limbs was discussed as regards: * Sites of nerve entrapment in the limbs-In the upper limb. - In the lower limb The methods of diagnosis including: 1- The history of complaint 2- The effects of nerve entrapment 3- The electrical changes which can be investigated by electro-diagnosis which include: A- Motor nerve conduction studies B- Sensory nerve conduction studies C- Electromyography (EMG). * Regional survey of entrapment syndromes in the upper and lower limbs includes the sites of entrapments, the different methods of diagnosis in this particular syndrome, the differential diagnosis and lastly the methods of treatment which includes brifely two methods of decompression: a) The conservative method by giving the patient no steroidal antiinflammatory drugs when the complain is slight or with giving corticosteroid injection, immobilization and sometimes physiotherapy. b) The surgical methods which is used when the conservative method fail or when the case is late and complicated.
