Abstract This study was carried on 30 patients attending the outpatient clinic of the tropical medicine unite, Mansoura University hospital, in addition to 8 healthy volunteers as a control group. The patients were selected in stratified randomized manner. All the studied subjects were submitted to the following:- (I) Full medical history . (II) Clinical examination (III) Investigations:- (1) Laboratory investigations inc1uding:- 1- Urine and stool examination. 2- Liver function tests including: -. Serum alanine aminotransferase (AL T) and serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST) ,serum conjugated and unconjugated bilirubin, and total proteins. 3- Serum creatinine. 4- hemoglobin level (2) Abdominal ultra sound (3) Rectal SniP. (4)Estimation of the level of En do the1in-l To determine the level of endothelin- I (ET -I)) in patients with Schistosomal cor pulmonale. To fmd the relation between its level and the pathogenesis of Schistosomal cor pulmonale and to evaluate its diagnostic efficacy. |
