Abstract
The presenl study was performed on 83 consecutive patients with ’,dvanced coloreelal carcinoma (eRe), 44 males & 39 females. The youngest 111I watient was 22 years old, the 0ldesl80 years and the mean age 46.6 yeacs. Those [were submilled to radical colectomy surgery (from 1993- 1995 ) in Mansoura University Hospitals, Mansoura, Egypt. Age&Sex There was a wide age range from 22-80 years old with mean of 46.4. As a whole there is slight male predominance (53%), but in SA they represent 66.7% compared to only 47.5% of NSA. Schistosoma association and affection. Ova of S.M were seen in 24 (28.9%) cases. In 17 cases, bilharzial ova were found wilhin the tumor tissue vicinity. Focal disruption of musclaris mucosa was observed in six cases and crypt abscess in four. Eight bilharzial polYps showing no dysplasia were delected away from the tumor.
