Abstract This study was done on 50 cases of spontaneous abortion and multiparous women with no history of previous abor- (control). Histopathological examination of the products of revealed the fol : - A- Decidual changes: These were classified into: i) Changes unrelated to the blocking factor:- These con- sisted of. a) Changes of no pathological significance such as haemorrhage and polymorphnuclear infiltrate. b) Changes of pathological significance. These were vas- cular lesions such as end arteritis obliterans, perivascular fibrosis and superadded thrombosis. These changes result in early and late necrotic changes. c) Arias Stella reaction : The frequency of ASR was less than that recorded by other authors. This may be at- tributed to hormonal inSUfficiency in some cases of spontaneous abortion. ii) Changes related to the blocking factor:- a) Plasma cells These were more frequent in cases . |
