Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma lS one of the most common malignant neoplasms in the world. Various lmaglng techniques and measurement of serum levels of a-fetoprotein have been used widely ln the screening of hepatocellular carcinoma among high-risk groups, such as hepati tis B surfaceantigen carrlers and patients with chronic liver disease, thus, more and more cases have recently been detected at an early stage. Recently, sonographically guided percutaneous ethanol injeciton therapy has been attracting a great deal of attention in the treatment of liver neoplasms. This work was to study the effectiveness of this new role of treatment. This work was done suitable for injection. on 35 patients to select patients All patients were subjected to: 1. History and clinical examination. 2. Routine laboratory investigations including the liver function tests. 3. Determination of serum alphafetoprotein level. 4. Radiologic investigations concentrating on the abdominal ultrasonic data. 5. Histopathological study of biopsy specimens. 6. Selected cases for injection was injected and evaluation of injection by ultrasonic data, C.T and a-fetoprotein, was done. |
