Abstract
The aim of the present study is to assess the early clinical results of IV infusion of streptokinase together with electrocardiographic evoluation of AMI. The short term effects of this line of treatment on echocardiographic left ventricular function and dimensions were also studied. The cases studied of the present work were selected from the coronary care unit in Mansoura University Hospital within six hours from the onset of chest pain as a test group and divided according to the time delayed before starting SK, presence (or abscence) of L.V.F and the location of infarction into different sUbgroups. Fifteen patients with AMI received conventional therapy were selected as a control group. All patients were subjected to the followings: Thorough history taking; clinical examination as well as the follwing investigations:- Electrocardiogram, laboratory tests (serum enzymes as CK, SGOT and LDH, lipogram, blood picture and ESR, kidney function fasting and post prandial blood sugar), radiological examination and echocardiographic examination.
