Abstract Twenty six NIDD patients and ten non diabetic normal control subjects are included in the present work. To all subjects included urine analysis for clinical proteinuria has been tested. of the diabetics have overt nephropathy (all with normal serum creatinine values and no marcoalbuminuria) . All patients have neither pyuria nor evidence of cardiopu Imonary disease. All drugs known to act on carbohydrate and/or lipid metabolism are withdrawn before and during the investigation. Patients receiving drugs that act on the red cells, platelets, blood vessels, and plasma are excluded from the present work.” Hence, patients are choosen to be normotensives. All patients are maintained on a fixed diet before and during the test period. All diabetic patients are maintained on the same oral hypoglycemic drug previously taken before the study and on a fixed dose. To all subjects the following parameters are W determined:- Fasting, two-hours blood glucose values, serum creatinine, urinary microalburninuria in ug albumin/ml and then estimation of microalbuminuria in ug/mg urinary creat inine . |
