Abstract Leuk6trienes are formed predominantly various inflammatory cells e.g. neutrophils, monocytes and basophils, they are formed from arachidonic acid in the phospholipid membranec of the inflammatory cells via the 5-lipoxygenase pathway and they have been suggested to have a great role in mediating theinflammatory response by assisting and mediating neutrophil chemotaxis, aggregation, adherence and degranulation. So they play an important role many inflammatory conditions in this study we tried to evaluate LTB4 levels in patients with rheumatoid arthritis as a chronic inflammatory disease, aiming at identification of there role as indicators of rheumatoid activity. |
