Abstract Routine laboratory data in patients with acute upper abdominal emergencies are so hazy that need arises for a possible profile that can different tate its causes and provide a clue for diagnosis. For this PurPOse~ the following enzymes viere selected- amylase, AST, ALT) ~ GT~ ALP & LDH in adci tion to other laborator-y,tests as serum bilirubin, serum calcium, serum albumin & HBS Ag. Also ALP & LDH isoen zymology were studied to establish the source of their ~ increase. The material of the present work comprised forty eight patients & ten control subjects. The patient group included fifteen patients with acute hepati tie, ten patients with acute cholecystitis~ ten patients with’acute gustroduodenal ulcer, three patient with acute panereatitis, & ten patients with acute peritonitis. In acute hepatitis a massive increase in serum transaminases activities was found. |
