Abstract Aluminum phosphate samples containing 5, 10 , 25 and 50 wt% Al2O3 were prepared by mechanical mixing of the appropriate amounts of aluminum phosphate gel and Al(OH)3 gel. chromiaaluminum phosphate samples containing 5, 10, 25 and 50 wt% of Cr2O3 were prepared using the same procedure that behaved for Al2O3/AlPO4 preparation gel. The prepared samples were calcined at 400, 600, 800 and 1000oC for 7 hours. Structural characterization of the catalysts and the phase changes were determined using Xray technique.Textural parameters, including surface area (SBET), mean pore radius (rH) and total pore volume (Vm) were determined by measuring the adsorption of nitrogen at 196oC using conventional volumetric apparatus. The surface acidity of All prepared catalysts was estimated using the irreversible adsorption of nbutylamine and applying Langmuir equation. The catalytic conversion of isopropanol over all investigated catalysts was studied. The mechanism of alcohols dehydration was discussed on the basis of bimolecular elimination mechanism. |
