Abstract

The present study aimed to clarify the potential role of NLR as a new marker in early prediction of the occurrence of DKA in T1DM patients without infection and to evaluate its relation to clinical and laboratory parameters. The study included 90 participants who were classified into 3 groups: group (I): 30 apparently healthy subjects were included to serve as a healthy control group. group (II): 30 T1DM patients in an uninfected state without ketosis or ketoacidosis. group (III): 30 T1DM patients with ketosis and or ketoacidosis and an uninfected state. ❖ group III was further subdivided into 3 subgroups based on the severity of DKA as follows: ➢ mild DKA. ➢ moderate DKA. ➢ severe DKA.
