Abstract Nanomaterials (NMs) have gained prominence in technological science due to their tunable physiochemical, e.g. melting point, wettability, electrical and thermal conductivity, catalytic activity, light absorption and scattering, in addition to biological compatibility. All these merits ensure their enhanced performance over the other bulky counterparts. Among the various types of NMs, nano-diamonds (NDs) are found to be one of the most emerged types owing to their superior properties, e.g. extreme chemical inertness, excellent hardness, optical transparency, and good biocompatibility in drug delivery (Bundschuh et al., 2018; Lawal, 2019). Hence, the use of NDs has acutely spread out in several industries, e.g. polishes and engine lubrications. However, the relevant toxicity effects of NDs have become inevitable due to their accumulations in the environment. Therefore, the prime focus of this research is the investigation of NDs’ properties and addressing their toxicological effects in vivoThe high infiltration of NDs into the environment has badly impacted the human being and other organisms due to the fragmentary toxicity of their particles, especially in vivo (Jeevanandam et al., 2018; Karpeta-Kaczmarek et al., 2016; Liu et al., 2021). This motivates the need of clean biomedical therapies against diamond nanoparticles to get rid of their harmful impacts. In this context, the main aim of this research is to propose biomedical treatments to mitigate the harmful influences of diamond nanoparticles on vivo using beetles as model organism (Adamski et al., 2019; Cao & Zhang, 2016; Rocha et al., 2017). Consequently, this research tracks the following objectives: 1) Detailed investigations are presented for studying the harmful effects of diamond nanoparticles on beetles. 2) Proposing biomedical treatment using sericin to conquer those detrimental impacts on beetles. 3) Verification of the proposed biomedical remedy is introduced using histological, biomedical, and molecular analyses to show its efficacy on treating the infected beetles’ organs. |
