Abstract

This study successfully synthesized chitosan nanoparticles derived from black soldier fly and demonstrated their potential as a novel drug delivery system for vancomycin. In vitro studies confirmed the nanoparticles effectively loaded vancomycin and exhibited significant antibacterial activity against vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA). In vivo experiments in rats infected with VRSA showed that, vancomycin loaded chitosan nanoparticle treatment significantly reduced bacterial burden compared to free vancomycin. These findings suggest chitosan nanoparticles from black soldier fly offer a promising strategy to combat VRSA infections.
So this research opens the way for further development of chitosan nanoparticles derived from black soldier flies as a novel and effective approach to deliver antibiotics for combating antibioticresistant bacterial infections.
