The study aimed to identifying the modifying role of both mindfulness and experiential avoidance in the relationship between perceived discrimination and subjective well-being. The study utilized the integrative approach, and the sample consisted of 105 male and female students with visual impairment from Sohag, Assiut and Minya Universities , with ages ranging from 18 to 25 years . with an average age of (20.3), and a standard deviation of (1.75). The study used the Perceived Discrimination Scale, the Subjective Well-Being Scale (both were developed by the researcher), and the mindfulness Scale (prepared by: Wilkinson., & Hao., 2021 The short version of the Five Facet Mindfulness Scale prepared by: Baer et al., 2006, codification: the researcher), and the brief experimental avoidance scale (prepared by: Gamez et al., 2014, codification: Abdel Hamid, 2021), and the study’s quantitative results revealed a set of mutual relationships among its variables, showing a negative relationship between perceived discrimination and subjective well-being, between mindfulness and perceived discrimination, and between experiential avoidance and perceived discrimination. On the other hand, there was a positive relationship between mental alertness and subjective well-being, as well as between experiential avoidance and subjective well-being. Both mindfulness and experiential avoidance played a moderating role in the relationship between perceived discrimination and subjective well-being. Regarding the qualitative results, they revealed that mindfulness, with its dimensions, perceived discrimination, and experiential avoidance, influenced the perceptions of visually impaired students about subjective well-being. The qualitative results complemented the quantitative results, indicating the influence of the independent variables in the study and shaping the relationship between perceived discrimination and subjective well-being. Based on these results, a set of recommendations was presented.
