Abstract Lung cancer is the 1 st most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide, representing 12.4% of all diagnosed cancers. It is responsible for the most cancer-related deaths (18.7%) [Ferlay et al., 2024]. In Egypt, lung cancer represents the fifth most common cancer (5.1%) and the fourth most fatal one (7.1%). According to gender, it ranks third in males, ninth in females and 5th in both sexes [Ferlay et al., 2024]. According to the latest WHO data published in 2020 Lung Cancers Deaths in Egypt reached 5,677 or 1.06% of total deaths. The age adjusted Death Rate is 8.02 per 100,000 of population ranks Egypt #115 in the world. [WHO; 2020]. Lung cancers are classified into small cell and non-small cell. Both represent more than 95% of all lung cancers [Siddiqui et al.,2023]. Most of the lung cancers are NSCLC representing about 85-90% of lung cancers. |
