Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different angulations of impacted maxillary canine on root resorption of adjacent teeth using cone-beam computed tomography. Thirty CBCT scans of patients who had a unilateral or bilateral impacted maxillary canine were included. 1) from CBCT axial view, the position of the maxillary impacted canine investigated either labial, palatal position or mid alveolus 2) from panoramic view, canine angulation to the occlusal plane and lateral incisor was measured. 3) Proximity to and/or direct contact of the impacted canine with incisors or premolars (yes/no). 4) location and severity of root resorption was determined vertically as apical, middle coronal and horizontally as palatal, buccal, mesial, or distal 5) severity of resorption was graded as: no resorption, slight resorption, moderate resorption and severe resorption. |
