Abstract
Vertigo is common clinical complaints. Vertigo is caused by a disturbed vestibular system and is subdivided into peripheral vertigo (due to failure of the end organs) or central vertigo (due to failure of the vestibular nerves or central connections to the brainstem and cerebellum). Peripheral causes of vertigo include: acute labyrinthitis, acute vestibular neuronitis (vestibular neuritis), benign positional paroxysmal vertigo (benign positional vertigo), cholesteatoma, herpes zoster oticus (Ramsey hunt syndrome), MD (Meniere’s syndrome, endolymphatic hydrops), otosclerosis, perilymphatic fistula and superior semicircular canal dehiscence.
