Abstract The aim of this study is to evaluate the association between the levels of lipids and B type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in systemic lupus erythematosus patients with heart failure in Pediatric Nephrology Unit. The children were classified into 3 groups: • Group1 (active group: included 19 patients with age group ranging from 9 to 18 years and they were 2 male and 17 female these patients hade manifestations or complications of SLE. Subgroup from active group included 8 with heart failure and 11 without heart failure. • group 2 (inactive group : included 19 patients with age group ranging from 9 to 18 years and they were 2 male and 17 female these patients hade no manifestations or complications of SLE. • group 3 (control group : included 19 patients with age group ranging from 9 to 18 years and they were 6 male and 13 female. They were apparent healthy children. All cases subjected to: complete history taking,complete clinical examination, and investigations which include C.B.C, E.S.R, Protein in urine/24 h, Anti ds-DNA and ANA,TC, TG, HDL C,LDH-C,serum albumin,proteinurea,BNP: Using enzyme ELISA and ECHO assessment. |
