Abstract Exploitative leadership is a widely prevalent but relatively understudied bad leadership behavior based on self-interest and classified as destructive leadership, which participates in a range of unpleasant behaviors. Researchers believe that work alienation is to arise from a conflict between human nature and the nature of work roles. Nurses who believe that their heads treat them well are more likely to build positive working relations with them. To reciprocate, these nurses attempt to give their leaders favorable results. On the other hand, nurses who feel mistreated by their head nurses often have poor exchange relationships with them, which can have negative effects such as increasing their detachment from work and decreasing their performance. |
