Abstract
Obesity is an advanced stage of overweight and is officially defined by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIH) as a Body Mass Index (BMI) equal to or above 30. The World Health Organization (WHO) factsheet, 2021 declared that about 40% of all adults and 20% of all children are overweight or obese. According to “100 million health” survey, in Egypt (2019) which screened 49.7 million adult Egyptians (≥18 years old), 39.8% of adult Egyptians suffered from obesity (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2).
