Abstract

The thesis aims to evaluate the petrophysical properties of the Late Cretaceous Metla Formation in the central part of the Gulf of Suez in order to reveal its potential hydrocarbon potential Well logs from five wells were used to evaluate the Metla reservoirs based on a computer approach The petrophysical properties and fluid types were calculated and verified using sample data The core was represented vertically as cross-sectional diagrams of saturation and lithology and horizontally as contour maps of petrophysical properties. Evaluation of the properties of total porosity, effective porosity, shale content, water saturation, permeability, and total water volume of the Metulla Formation in Mathaz wells showed weighted average values The identification of rocks derived from well logs indicates that the main rock composition of the Metulla Formation It is quartz sandstone with slight contents of clay and carbonates The upper area of the field is considered a poor reservoir, while the middle and lower regions are considered good reservoirs in all the wells studied.
