Abstract

Focal hepatic lesions constitute a daily challenge in the clinical setting. The noninvasive diagnosis of liver lesions is usually achieved with contrast material–enhanced computed tomography and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) has become a standard technique in liver imaging. Aim and objectives; to evaluate the added value of diffusion weighted imaging to dynamic MRI in detecting and characterizing hepatic focal lesions. Subjects and methods; This study was carried out on a selected group of 100 patients from the referred to MRI units of Radio-diagnosis department at Tanta University Hospital and Al-Mahala Hepatology Educational Institute. Result: Age was ranged between 2–86 years with mean value 55.41±12.043 years. Male cases were 54(54.0%) while female cases were 46(46.0%).
