Abstract
The present study was under taken at the Nursery of Ornamental plants, Fac. Agric., Minia Univ. during the two seasons 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 to determine the effect of organic fertilization, compost (0, 50, 75 and 100 g/pot) and number of pinching (once, twice and thrice), as well as their interactions on growth parameters, flowering traits and chemical composition of Cineraria hybrida plant.
Data showed that all examined traits of vegetative, root growth and flowering traits, as well as some chemical composition were increased by increasing compost level comparing with control. Pinching plants led to decrease plant height and increased number of branches and leaves, leaf area, aerial parts and root fresh and dry weight and flower traits as well as pigments and NPK%. The twice pinched plants were superior than other pinched treatments (pinched once and thrice) or no pinched plants (control) to create good potted appearance of cineraria plant.
The best interaction treatments were fertilizing plants with compost at 100 g/pot and pinching Cineraria hybrida plants twice for the best floral disc.
