Abstract Successful pulp therapy requires absolute aseptic condition of the root canals by adequately cleaning and shaping of root canals. Biomechanical preparation is a challenging process in primary teeth because of their complex anatomy and unexpected behavior of young children, thus increasing the need of using particular files for primary teeth. The present study aimed to compare between conventional K-hand files and pediatric Kedo-S rotary files in cleaning efficacy of canals of primary molars, clinically, radiographically, and bacteriology. The randomized controlled clinical trial comprised of 20 healthy children aged 4 - 7 years having bilateral mandibular second primary molars with irreversible pulpitis symptoms and indicated for pulpectomy treatment. Teeth were randomly allocated to two groups, group I was instrumented by Khand files (n=20), group II was instrumented by pediatric Kedo-S rotary files (n=20). |
