Abstract
This thesis has investigated three techniques to improve energy efficiency of Qarun oil processing facility. First technique was applying variable frequency drivers on pumps, air fans, compressors. The second techniques are retrofitting the already existing heat exchanger network using Aspen energy Analyzer. The Third technique is using the flared gas as a fuel for fired heaters and the barriers for using it as a fuel have been investigated using interchangeability studies ( Wobbe index and Weaver indices).
