Abstract A total of 279 progeny of Baladi Black (BB) rabbits, obtained from the history sheets of Sakha Station farm, kept at Sakha Experimental Rabbits, kafr- El-Sheikh, Government, fitting to Center of Agriculture Research according to the cooperation between Faculty of Agriculture, Tnata University and Animal Production Research Institute, Ministry of Agriculture, Dokki, Cairo, Egypt during the period from 2001 to 2005 were used to compare different selection indexes for economic traits by using two different relative economic values. Records were analysis by using Multi variables Animal Model. The model includes, the influence of month and year of kindling, gender and dam’s parity the random effects of animals, uncorrelated random environmental and residual. Month and year of kindling are highly significantly on all traits, while, parity and sex had no significant effect, expect the effect of parity on litter size at kindling. Bucks and does within bucks had major factors affecting all variables studies. Genetic factors estimates are .10, .24, .18, .25, .40 and .54 for litter size at birth, letter weight at birth, body weight at 4,6,8 and at 10 weeks of age respectively. All phenotypic and heritable association between all variables traits studied are positive and extended from .25 to .92 for phenotypic associations and from .15 to .80 for heritable associations. Eleven selection indexes were constructed. The fifth index (I5) which included litter size at kindling, body weight at weaning and final weight was recommended for both two methods of relative economic values. |
