Abstract COVID-19 pandemic infected approximately 100 million individuals around the world and killed over 2 million. And causes physical illness, death, stress, anxiety, financial problems, and social instability, all of which contribute to a rise in the severity of suffering. As a first step in responding to a pandemic, it is critical to mitigate suffering using all available measures. Palliative care is an integral component of ICU care; it involves a holistic approach to care, covering physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs, as well as pain and symptom management. Palliative care affirms life and views death as a natural process; it neither hastens nor delays death, but rather strives to maintain the highest possible quality of life until death.
