Abstract Skin aging is a multi-factorial age-related process that affects skin functions and biology. It presents with increased skin wrinkling commonly presented on sun exposed areas especially face and extremities. Many commercial products and interventions were produced to restore and slow down this aging process, like botulinum toxin type A, vitamin A, dermabrasion, laser, and ultrasonic waves. Botulinum toxin type A is the most commonly used cosmetic procedure worldwide. It works by blocking neurotransmitters responsible for muscle contraction. Mesobotox technique involves injection of small doses of the toxin intradermally that disseminate all over the face and to its superficial muscles to reduce fine wrinkles, improve skin texture and reduce pores size. The aim of this work was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intradermal injection of diluted botulinum toxin type A for facial aging in Egyptians. Twenty females with facial aging signs e.g., dynamic rhytides, fine wrinkles, or wide pores completed the study, their ages ranged from 40 – 57 years. They were recruited from Dermatology outpatient clinic of Tanta university hospitals. |
