Abstract

Patients’ primary complaints in emergency rooms frequently centre around abdominal discomfort. Diagnosing stomach discomfort, particularly lower abdominal pain in women who are fertile, may be challenging. In women of reproductive age, acute lower abdomen pain is frequently caused by appendicitis as well as obstetrics and gynaecological diseases such pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, and complex ovarian cysts.
Since every prevalent diagnosis for acute lower abdominal pain is an emergency, prompt diagnosis and treatment are crucial to avoiding treating serious conditions when it is already too late.
The aim of this study was to confirm clinical indicators for the diagnosis of acute lower abdominal pain in females of reproductive age that may be brought on by appendicitis, OB-GYN, or (NSAP).
In the current investigation, 150 female patients (aged 15 to 49) who were admitted to the ED of the Main University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, University of Alexandria, participated in an observational prospective clinical study.
In the current study, most of the patients were less than 35 years (72%) and were married (66.7%).
