Abstract This work had been carried out to investigate the coordination behaviour of gemifloxacin (GFX) drug (as primary ligand) and glycine amino acid (as secondary ligand) with different coordination sites, towards some bi-, tri- and tetravalent metal ions like Cr(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Fe(III). The metal complexes of the different ligands were prepared and their structural elucidation using both spectroscopic and theoretical techniques are well studied. The spectroscopic methods included many analytical techniques such as elemental analyses, mass spectroscopy, IR, ¹H NMR and solid reflectance spectra, magnetic moment, molar conductance and thermal analyses techniques. The chelates were found to have octahedral geometry |
