Abstract

This thesis comprises four chapters in addition to references and Arabic summary. The first part was the introduction which included the uses of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds in the synthesis of pyridine, pyridazine, thiophene abd benzo[c]imidazole derivatives. Moreover, it describes their uses as anticancer agents. The second chapter showed the original work 2Part I3 which entitled 2Synthesis and cytotoxicity of heterocyclic compounds derived from cyclohexane-1,3-dione. Through this chapter, the aim of the work together with the schemes adopted for the synthesis of the target molecules were demonstrated. The third chapter dealing with the original work part II. This part is entitled 2Uses of ethyl benzoylacetate to synthesis novel pyridine, 1,6-naphthridine, benzo[c]imidazole and thiophene derivatives together with their antitumor evaluations. Also through this chapter the aim of the work together with the schemes adopted for the synthesis of the target molecules described in this part were demonstrated. The fourth and the fifth chapters dealing with the experimental section of compounds described through chapter 2 and chapter 3, respectively. Through these chapters the detailed experimental procedure for each described compound together with its detailed analytical and spectral data were demonstrated. The sixth ad seventh chapters dealing with the biological screening of the newly synthesized compounds. where antitumor evaluations towards cancer and normal cell lines were described. The last chapter is the references section this include the references of all parts of thesis where 291 references were introduced through this section in analogy with their existence through the introduction and the original work, Parts I & II, respectively
